As I hit my forties, I was finding my body was increasingly highly strained, pains here and there, and some general lethargy. I was recommended that Pilates could help me with flexibility, strength and connection. These were all things, when I thought about it, my body needed.
I’d say first that SooHui treats you as an individual - what are your goals, what do you want to work on today. But at the same time often when I’m not sure (I’m busy, and we often work together first thing) there is always a plan.
I also like that SooHui doesn’t take me literally. I may say my ankles are tight, but she works my back and my thighs - and once they are loose the ankles come with them.
Finally SooHui is ambitious on my behalf. I’d not have built the strength and connection in my body without her drive to make me a stronger and more flexible person. I’ve less niggles, less pain, and I’m more at one with my body shape. I’m more flexible, and stronger.
Before I started working with SooHui, I felt very upset and anxious because I hurt my back at the beginning of lockdown and didn’t know what to do or where to get the support from. I found group zoom classes too difficult so I was relieved to find a way of exercising through 1-1 sessions with SooHui that suited me.
I look forward to every session I have with SooHui because she is an excellent teacher and knows how to get the best out of me. I know that she regularly completes courses so is technically and theoretically brilliant.
She incorporates different teaching styles like Polestar Pilates, Franklin method and body connectivity and flow into our sessions, so each time we try something different, it’s so much fun and I can really see the progress I’m making.

SooHui is able to constantly find the exercise and movement that works the important areas without creating strain or pain. She never gives just a standard lesson, it’s always bespoke to the person and the day and the way they feel. She is very encouraging and patient!
SooHui is a smart woman with a professional career who has now developed a love of teaching Pilates. So she understands the lives of hard working office types like me! She is also funny and easy to chat with, making an hour of bending bits that haven’t been bent and stretched before lots of fun! I really recommend her.
Prior to working with SooHui, my body was very stiff and I was suffering from intermittent back spasms.
I really appreciate both her extensive knowledge of the body and pilates, as well as her gentle and kind manner of teaching. I am also really pleased with the way she has helped me adjust the exercises to help my body with whatever it is going through at any given time. I feel our sessions are very dynamic and have helped me develop far more body awareness.
My back is much better since I started working with SooHui. The spasms have stopped and now when there is tightness I know what I need to do to help it ease up. I have also become considerably stronger in my core - all in all I am very pleased with the way my sessions with SooHui have progressed!
