MY STORY

I’m SooHui. I help people discover what may still be possible through movement.

THE BODY IS RARELY THE WHOLE STORY

I’ve spent many years working with people and their bodies — people recovering from injury, living with pain, returning to activities they love, or simply wondering why movement doesn’t feel as easy or natural as it once did.

And over time, I began to notice something.

Someone might tell me,

“My balance is terrible.”

“I can’t run anymore.”

“My back is fragile.”

“I’m too old for that now.”

Sometimes those beliefs came from an injury. Sometimes from something they had been told. Sometimes from an experience years ago.

But they had begun to shape how that person moved — what they avoided, what they protected, and eventually what they believed was possible for them.

That changed the way I work.

I became less interested in simply asking “What’s wrong?” and more interested in what someone was experiencing, sensing and believing — and what might change if they had a different experience.

We experience ourselves as a whole.

What we believe, what we feel, what we sense, how we organise ourselves, and how we choose to act.

MY APPROACH

Movement is one of the primary ways we experience ourselves.

Movement gives us a way to explore the whole of ourselves — not just our muscles and joints.

What we believe, what we feel and what we sense can influence how we organise ourselves and how we act.

And what we experience through movement can, in turn, influence what we believe is possible.

Someone who believes “my back is fragile”may begin to move more cautiously.

That caution can change what they notice, how they organise themselves and what they choose to do.

Over time, doing less may reinforce the very belief they started with.

This is why I don’t begin by trying to correct you.

I begin by helping you notice what is actually happening.

Because what we cannot sense, we rarely have the opportunity to change.

When we sense ourselves more clearly, we have new information.

We may notice effort we didn’t know we were making, discover choices we didn’t realise we had, or experience something that previously felt difficult in a completely different way.

And sometimes, a different experience reveals that the story we’ve been living isn’t the whole story.

WHERE MY APPROACH COMES FROM

No single method has all the answers.

My work has evolved through years of teaching, studying and perhaps most importantly, paying attention to the people in front of me.

Clinical Pilates taught me to observe movement carefully and gave me a deep understanding of biomechanics, rehabilitation and function.

The Feldenkrais Method deepened my understanding of sensing, learning and how we discover new possibilities through experience.

Mindfulness taught me something equally important: how to stay curious about what is happening without immediately judging it or trying to change it.

But I don’t treat these as separate methods to apply to you. They have shaped how I see, how I listen and how I work.

You are not a collection of muscles to correct. You are a whole person — learning, adapting and responding to your experience.

My job isn’t to have all the answers for you. It’s to help you become better at discovering your own.

Never Stop Learning

Learning has always been a big part of my life.

I’m a certified Polestar Pilates practitioner and mentor and have worked with clients and mentored teachers across the UK and Spain.

I’m currently completing my professional Feldenkrais training, which continues to challenge and expand the way I understand movement, perception and learning.

Mindfulness and meditation have also been part of my own practice for many years and continue to influence how I teach and how I live.

But my education doesn’t only come from courses and qualifications.

It comes from working with people.

From noticing what changes when someone stops trying so hard.

From seeing what happens when a person who has become cautious discovers that they can do something they thought they couldn’t.

And from continuing to question what I think I know.

Movement is life.

A few things that bring me joy

TRAVEL & EXPLORING NEW PLACES

I love seeing, tasting and experiencing new things. I’ve lived in Singapore, New York, Hong Kong, Sydney, Shanghai, London and now Barcelona. Each place has changed me in some way.

PRACTISING HANDSTANDS

Handstands have become their own little experiment in possibility. They require patience, adaptability and a willingness to keep learning. There is always another way to organise myself, another detail to notice, another possibility to explore. Maybe that’s why I love them.

THE SUN AND SEA

I’m happiest near water. Whenever I feel stuck, being by the sea seems to create a little more space.

MORNINGS IN CITIES

I love cities before they wake up. That quiet period before everything starts moving is one of my favourite times to walk, think and simply be by myself.

EATING WELL AND GOOD COFFEE

Life is too short for bad food or bad coffee. Enough said.

BAREFOOT FREEDOM

I’ve been running in barefoot shoes since 2010 and over time almost all my footwear has become barefoot or minimalist. I simply love the feeling of being able to sense the ground beneath me.

How We Can Work Together

1-1 Possibilities

Something has changed in how you move or what you feel able to do.

You're more cautious, you've stopped doing something you once enjoyed, or you're simply unsure what your body can do now.

Work with me individually to explore what's getting in the way, notice what you may not have noticed before, and discover what else might be possible.

Movement Possibilities Academy

Movement is something we can keep exploring throughout our lives.

But it can be hard to make time for your own movement practice. Work gets busy, other things take priority, and despite your best intentions, it's easy to keep putting it off.

The Academy is a community for doing just that. We come together for regular live practices to move, experiment, share what we notice and learn alongside one another.

Retreats & Immersions

It can be hard to find space for yourself when everyday life is full.

There are meals to think about, work deadlines, errands, chores and people who need something from you. Even when you have time, it can be difficult to really step away from it all.

Retreats and immersions give you time to move, explore and experience yourself in a different setting — and perhaps return to everyday life with a fresh perspective.

NEXT RETREAT:
